Huntington North High School senior Maisy Robrock made her college commitment official on Wednesday afternoon, putting pen to paper to sign with Huntington University to continue her academic and volleyball careers.
Robrock played a big role for the Lady Vikes during her three years on the varsity squad, racking up over 300 kills and digs and over 50 aces. Robrock especially excelled during her senior season, earning Northeast 8 Conference First Team All-Conference honors, and was also named as the Southwood Invitational MVP.
“Maisy has many attributes that make her a special player,” said Huntington North volleyball head coach Ben Goodin. “She is ultra-competitive, to say the least, and that shows on the court during practice and games. She is physically gifted with a quick jump and fast arm swing with a hard snap. When she finds an open spot, a kill from Maisy can get a team energized. At the next level, her court vision combined with her physical talents will be an asset to the Foresters. One thing we will miss is Maisy’s ‘take charge’ attitude that has suited her well as one of our team’s co-captains. She also has made many connections with younger players that help our program feel like one big family.”
Robrock should be able to make the adjustment to life at Huntington University smoothly, as she will stay near to home and rejoin her two older sisters, Maddy and Morgan, both former Lady Vikes who are now student-athletes for the Foresters, with Maddy playing basketball and Morgan playing volleyball.
“I chose Huntington because it was the one campus I went to where (it) just felt like home,” Robrock said at the signing. “It was so easy to walk around. One of the reasons was because both my sisters went and it just would be comfortable and I know that I would be able to just do my own thing and not have any pressure at all.”
Off the court, Robrock has earned multiple scholar-athlete recognitions due to her achievements in the classroom and enjoys participating in Campus Life with her friends.
Robrock said she plans to study education while at Huntington with the hopes of working in special education in the future.
