The scoreboard in Huntington North High School’s new multi-purpose stadium will feature Bippus State Bank advertising, as a sponsorship deal between HCCSC and Bippus State Bank was approved at Monday night’s Board of School Trustees meeting.
The agreement gives Bippus State Bank the exclusive rights to scoreboard sponsorship for the next 10 years at a cost of $100,000.
“Being a community bank, one of our roles within the community is to financially support projects that we feel bring value to Huntington County,” said Bippus State Bank President and CEO Eric Fawcett. “Our success at Bippus State Bank is directly attributable to the citizens of Huntington County, and this donation is one way we can give back to our community. We are excited for all the young men and women that will be able to utilize this new facility.”
According to the agreement, Bippus State Bank’s logo will be featured on both sides of the video board section of the scoreboard.
Fawcett noted he is looking forward to the implications the new facility will have on the Huntington community as a whole.
“I believe when this project is finished, the citizens of Huntington County are going to see a multi-use facility that puts our high school on a level with other school corporations that surround us,” Fawcett said. “The school corporation will now be able to host events that they would not have been able to do in the past. These events will bring large numbers of spectators to our community, who will in turn eat at our local restaurants, shop at our local retailers and use our hotels. For me, as president of the bank, I am excited about the positive economic impact this new facility will have on our community.”
HCCSC Business Manager Scott Bumgardner thanked Fawcett and Bippus State Bank for their contribution and partnership, and recognized the involvement local stakeholders have had in HCCSC’s facility upgrades.
“We’ve just been so impressed with how our community has helped as part of a lot of our projects,” Bumgardner said during the board meeting.
HCCSC Superintendent Chad Daugherty added there is also an opportunity for signage on the backside of the scoreboard. Bippus State Bank would receive that real estate as part of the exclusive agreement for scoreboard sponsorship should the opportunity be completed as expected.
