Band Members and Principal Honored at 10/16 Board Meeting
Posted on 10/18/2023
Leadership, servanthood, talent and rigor all shine during the Core Values discussion at last Monday's School Board Meeting. Jay Peters honors the selected individuals through statements made by their nominators. "I count it a privilege and honor to work with you and alongside you on our leadership team" states Peters. "Kids don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."
Mr. McLaughlin is being honored tonight for his outreach to students to make sure they know that he is always there for them, no matter what. Students have recognized that Pat is someone they can count on, and go to in time of need. Thank you for your servant's heart and your willingness to make a difference in the lives of our students.
Crestview Middle School Band Director, Nash Flanigan recommended 8th grade Flutist Bekah Bruce, Flutist Kristen Plasterer, Clarinetist Levi Skiles, and Percussionist Aiden Wohlford for their talents, willingness to improve and their leadership, whom all earned a position in the 44th Annual All-Region Band. The Indiana Bandmasters Association (IBA) hosts events throughout the state that recognize the talented students in band. Band Directors have the opportunity to nominate students through a process that provides an excellent opportunity for students to have their talents recognized, perform with other outstanding young musicians, and work with highly respected music educators and conductors. The All-Region Band will perform at Marion High School on Sunday November 12, 2023 at 4 p.m.
Nash Flanigan was honored during the meeting for sharing his talents with his students through his amazing methods and practices that allow students to gain confidence in their abilities as young musicians. Nash provides opportunities for his students to be a part of a ‘bigger stage’ where students can showcase their talents.
We are privileged to be amongst such amazing individuals within our district and we thank everyone involved in making Huntington County Community School Corporation a wonderful place to be.
