The Board of School Trustees approved the awarding of naming rights for the new Huntington North High School softball field to Teachers Credit Union during Monday night’s board meeting.
The naming rights contract includes a duration of 10 years at a fee of $125,000 in total. HCCSC Business Manager Scott Bumgardner noted the funds will help with the construction costs for the softball field.
Teachers Credit Union District Manager Sandy Seacott and School and Business Relationship Officer Randy Lemert were present at the board meeting to thank the board for the opportunity to participate in the project.
“It’s a pleasure to work with your school corporation,” Lemert said to the board. “We have formed a very deep relationship over many years, and especially over the last few years. Mr. Daugherty and Mr. Bumgardner are very great to work with. We have had many discussions to form this relationship, and it’s a pleasure. And, as we’ve seen by all the awards tonight, your school corporation does a great job creating educational and other opportunities to your kids and we think this is an opportunity to do that and we’re glad to be a part of that.”
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Huntington North multi-purpose outdoor facility will take place on Thursday. The project is expected to be completed in late 2021.
