Huntington North junior Addison Wiley added to her quickly growing list of athletic accomplishments on Thursday, as the Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches (IATCCC) named Wiley to its Class 4A Girls Cross Country First Team All-State list.
The selection comes on the heels of a standout season in 2020 for Wiley, as she took the individual sectional (18:22.7) and regional (17:56.8) titles at Indiana Wesleyan University before grabbing fourth place (18:26.1) in the semi-state race at Huntington University. Wiley then capped her season with a sixth-place outcome (18:25.9) at the IHSAA Girls Cross Country State Finals in Terre Haute, Indiana, thanks to a strong push late in the race to surge up the leaderboard.
The recognition is the second of its kind for Wiley, as she also claimed a spot on the same list in 2019 after placing 10th overall at the 2019 IHSAA Girls Cross Country State Finals.
Joining Wiley on the IATCCC Class 4A Girls Cross Country First Team All-State list were Carmel’s Annie Christie, Brooklyn Edwards, Cara Naas and Alivia Romaniuk, Carroll’s Zoe Duffus and Ashlyn Minton, Makenzie Barnett of Columbus North, Floyd Central’s Jaydon Cirincione, Ella Desjean of Franklin Central, Jasper’s Andi Vanmeter, Ellen Baker of North Central and Valparaiso’s Kaylie Politza. Karina James of Lowell was named as the IATCCC Class 4A Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year after winning the individual state crown with a time of 18:00.1.
