HCCSC receives over $23,000 from community foundation grants

HCCSC Director of Curriculum Jay Peters accepts a commemorative oversized check from Huntington County Community Foundation Executive Director Matt DitzlerA total of 19 HCCSC employees across eight schools within the district have been awarded grants by the Huntington County Community Foundation’s 2021 Cycle II Grant Program and Classroom Education Grant Program.

In all, $23,452.38 was awarded to the HCCSC employees through the grants.

“Over the past two years, our community has been reminded of the value of teachers and how they better the lives of our students,” said Huntington County Community Foundation Executive Director Matt Ditzler. “With this record investment of Classroom Education grants, the Community Foundation seeks to reward local teachers that are implementing innovative projects designed to stimulate learning. We congratulate the 19 projects awarded funding and thank those teachers for their service to our community.”

Ditzler also shared the total of grant awards was the most ever given through through the Classroom Education Grant Program.

The grants will be used to purchase a wide variety of educational tools and upgrades within the selected schools and classrooms.

“Thanks to Matt Ditzler and the Huntington County Community Foundation for their partnership with us and their commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for our students,” said Director of Curriculum Jay Peters, who accepted the oversized commemorative check from Ditzler on Wednesday. “These grants will be used to implement innovative projects that are designed to stimulate learning while still meeting state standards.”
