Huntington County Community School Corporation Introduces New EL Coordinator Position to Support Growing English Learner Program
Huntington IN – At the Huntington County Community School Corporation's regular board meeting on September 9, 2024, a significant addition to the staff was announced to address the increasing needs of the English Learner (EL) program. The board introduced a new certified position: English Language Learner Program Coordinator.
Superintendent John Trout expressed deep appreciation for Mrs. Angie Grube, who has been instrumental in the success of the EL program. Over the past few years, Mrs. Grube has taken on multiple roles, demonstrating exceptional dedication and professionalism. The Superintendent praised her as a "consummate professional" who has made significant contributions to the program.
"Our English language learner population is growing, and with that growth comes the need for additional support," the Superintendent stated. He highlighted the critical nature of this new role, acknowledging that Mrs. Grube’s skills, talent, and positive disposition make her an excellent fit for the position. "We are asking a lot, but I have no doubt that someone of Mrs. Grube’s caliber will excel in this role," he added.
The introduction of this new position is part of the Corporation's broader effort to meet the needs of the expanding EL community. The Superintendent mentioned that he, along with other key administrators, will continue discussions with Mrs. Grube on how to best accommodate the growing needs of their English language learner population.
The board thanked Mrs. Grube for her continued commitment and emphasized that the students will greatly benefit from her leadership in this new capacity.
