At the October 14, 2024, Huntington County Community School Corporation (HCCSC) board meeting, members reviewed and discussed the approval of over $124,988 in donations and grants. These contributions will benefit a wide range of programs, including robotics, show choirs, STEM education, and more across various schools in the district.

Highlights of the Donations and Grants:

STEM Integration Grant: A significant grant of $68,007 was awarded to support K-12 schools in building an active STEM community through hands-on learning materials and teacher training.

Robotics Grant: The district received a $43,798 K-12 Robotics Competition Grant to fund event registrations, supplies, materials, and stipends for robotics mentors.

O’Neal Steel Donation: The Huntington County Community Learning Center received a donation of steel valued at $984.90 from O'Neal Steel, which will support the welding program.

School-Specific Donations:

Flint Springs Elementary: Three donations totaling $1,566.11, including funds for data boards, sensory items, and pumpkins for a book-themed decoration project.
Lincoln Elementary: Donations totaling $707 for gross motor skill development and warm-up t-shirts for the basketball teams.
Salamonie Elementary: A $6,000 donation from Mr. and Mrs. Breton Ranc to support students, alongside two $500 donations for the Robotics Team.
Riverview Middle School: $2,775 in donations for the Riverview Singers Show Choir and the Robotics Team.
Huntington North High School: A $100 donation from Psi Iota Xi Sorority for jerseys and apparel for the eSports team.

The board expressed gratitude for the generosity of the community and organizations involved, acknowledging the vital role these donations and grants play in enhancing student experiences and educational opportunities.
