HCCS Board President Tim Allen Responds to Superintendent Trout's Retirement Announcement

Huntington, IN— November 14, 2025
On behalf of the HCCSC Board of School Trustees, I want to convey and express our reluctant receipt of the announcement from John D. Trout of his upcoming retirement as our Superintendent. John has admirably served our school district for the last four years and his exceptional academic and organization leadership will be sorely missed after he retires.
It is the intention and plan of the School Board to vote on and name an Interim Superintendent at our next regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, November 24, 2025, after Mr. Trout’s official notice of retirement is received by the School Board.
