Huntington, IN - At the March 24, 2025, School Board Meeting, Huntington County Community Schools proudly recognized students and staff who exemplify our Core Values through academic, artistic, athletic, and leadership achievements.
Crestview Middle School’s Lane Canvin was honored as the Huntington County Spelling Bee Champion, a title he has held for three consecutive years.
Riverview Middle School celebrated Scholastic Art Award winners, including Gold and Silver Key recipients and students who contributed to the Memory Project Art Initiative, creating meaningful artwork for children in orphanages.
Austin Collins, a senior in the Precision Machining Program at the Huntington North Learning Center, placed 1st in the CNC category at the Indiana Chapter of the National Tooling & Machining Association Competition, earning a scholarship to Vincennes University.
Huntington North High School celebrated several record-breaking athletes:
- Adri Geiger set a new school gymnastics record in the floor exercise—twice!
- Kaydince Kalhoefer broke the school record in the 50 Free at the NE8 Girls Swimming Championships.
- The Girls 400 Free Relay Team—Kaydince Kalhoefer, Anna Kalhoefer, Annika Carpenter, and Lilah Kowalski—set a new school record.
Finally, educators Cari Neal and Chrystal Streeter were recognized for their testimony at the Indiana Statehouse, advocating for increased funding to support students with special needs.
