Aubrey Troutner – HNHS Wrestling Standout
Huntington North sophomore Aubrey Troutner made history at the inaugural IHSAA Girls Wrestling State Meet, finishing 3rd in the 140lb division. With an impressive 29-1 season record and an overall career record of 63-3, Aubrey continues to set a high standard for HNHS wrestling. Congratulations, Aubrey, on this incredible accomplishment!
Crestview Middle School Robotics Team Qualifies for State
The Crestview Middle School Robotics Team has advanced to the state competition, marking the second Crestview team to qualify this season! Team members Eliza Thirkettle, Lydia Bolinger, Kai Bordeaux, Gavin Smith, Eli Dinius, and Nathaniel James have demonstrated exceptional teamwork and problem-solving skills under the guidance of Coaches Travis Bolinger, Jon Bordeaux, Tom Stouder, and Daniel Schnaars. Congratulations to this talented group on their achievement!
Heather Kauffman Honored with Special Recognition
Horace Mann Elementary teacher Heather Kauffman was recently awarded an all-expenses-paid, 5-day cruise by Truitt Law Offices in recognition of her unwavering dedication to education. Despite battling cancer for over a year, Heather remains a steadfast presence in her Essential Skills classroom, inspiring both students and colleagues with her resilience and positivity. We are proud to celebrate Heather’s contributions to HCCS!
Community Foundation Supports Learning Center Programs
The Community Foundation of Huntington County, led by Matt Ditzler, has played a crucial role in supporting the Huntington County Community Learning Center. Through the Ignite Your Future Program, the Foundation has secured funding from the Don Wood Foundation, providing essential protective gear for the welding program and helping to create promotional videos for all Learning Center programs. This partnership continues to expand opportunities for students, ensuring the Learning Center remains a vital resource for career development.
