Huntington, IN - Huntington North High School has been named the recipient of the prestigious 2025 Community Partnership Award by Pathfinder Services, recognizing the school's outstanding collaboration in the Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program.

The award, presented by Pathfinder Services Chief Community Impact Officer Ashley Bostic, celebrates the transformative partnership that has helped hundreds of HNHS students prepare for successful transitions to employment and further education.

A Growing Partnership

The collaboration between HNHS and Pathfinder Services began in 2017 with just 17 seniors participating in the Pre-ETS program. Today, the program has expanded dramatically to serve 214 students with a team of six dedicated staff members.

"This partnership has flourished over the years, establishing our Pre-ETS program as a model for others across Indiana," said Bostic during the award presentation. "Huntington North's unwavering support was crucial for our participation in the TranCen Seamless Transition Pilot Program, aimed at improving Pre-ETS services statewide."

Comprehensive Support System

The success of the Pre-ETS program stems from the exceptional collaboration between HNHS staff and Pathfinder's transition specialists. Key elements of support provided by HNHS include:

  • Housing the Pre-ETS team within the school
  • Providing transportation for college visits
  • Offering dedicated IT support
  • Close collaboration between teachers and transition specialists
  • Strong backing from the Special Services Department and school administrators

Student Success

Through Pre-ETS, students at Huntington North gain invaluable workforce preparation skills, career exploration opportunities, work-based learning experiences, and self-advocacy training. These experiences provide a foundation for successful transitions to employment and higher education.

"Huntington North has proven to be a strong community partner, and this unique collaboration benefits students through the combined efforts of both parties," Bostic noted.

Looking Forward

As the Pre-ETS program continues to grow, HNHS remains committed to preparing all students for success after graduation. The school's dedication to inclusive education and career readiness has established Huntington North as a leader in transition services across the state.

Every Student. Every Day.
