J. Ryan Wall joins the HCCSC Board of School Trustees after being elected as the District 7 trusteeThe HCCSC Board of School Trustees welcomed J. Ryan Wall to its members on Jan. 1 after Wall was elected to serve as the District 7 trustee during the 2020 election.

Wall is a native of Huntington County and graduated from Huntington North High School in 1996. Wall returned to Huntington County after graduating from Purdue University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in law and society.

No stranger to giving back to his community, Wall has served on a number of boards in Huntington County including the Huntington County Boys and Girls Club, Pathfinder Foundation Board, Huntington City Historic Review Board and Huntington County Community Corrections. Wall noted he gained his heart for service from his parents and is excited to be following in his mother’s footsteps, as Gloria Wall served on the Board of School Trustees from 1991–1995.

“I look forward to serving our community as a member of the Huntington County Community School Corporation Board of Trustees,” Wall said.

The selection to the Board of School Trustees is not Wall’s first time working with HCCSC professionally, as he served as a security officer from October of 2001 through February of 2006 and as a network engineer from July of 2013 through January of 2020.

Wall is currently employed with a technology security startup based in San Francisco and resides in Huntington County with his wife, Kristy, and children, Dylan and Alex.

Wall replaces Reed Christiansen in the District 7 position following Christiansen’s exit at the end of 2020. Christiansen had served in the role since March of 2016.

Wall will take the Oath of Office on Monday night to officially join the Board of School Trustees. Additionally, Matt Melcher (District 1), Tim Allen (District 4) and Kevin Yarger (District 6) will also be taking the Oath of Office to commence their new terms of service. The oath will be administered by Representative Dan Leonard.
